The Sixth Sense is a 1999 thriller-horror movie starring Bruce Willis and Haley Joel Osment. It is written and directed by M. Night Shyamalan.

Plot

Malcom Crowe is a child psychologist who, shortly after a traumatic encounter with a disgruntled ex-patient, takes on a new client. His new client, Cole Sear, is a young boy who strangely enough has similar issues to those of Crowe’s ex-patient – more specifically, the kid “sees dead people”. In his effort to help Cole, Dr. Crowe finds himself confronted with a situation that is nothing short of mystifying.

Our Opinion

The Sixth Sense deserves its place on the shelf of Hollywood classics. It is unique in its storytelling, with its genius twists and turns, and the humane and elegant portrayal of the characters, which are masterfully played by the selected cast. It is a must-see movie.

Early Career

Betting on an acting career, he ventured to New York taking roles in Off-Broadway theater productions, making appearances in TV commercials, and smaller movie productions. In the early 80’s he achieved fame with the role as a New York police detective in the comedy-drama series Moonlighting (1985–1989), which he starred opposite Cybill Shepherd. While it was the feature film Die Hard (1988) that gained him worldwide recognition as an action hero. This paved the way for a prominent Hollywood career with roles in more than 70 movies, many of them large-bugdet and blockbusters.

Blockbusters

Bruce Willis shines in his role as a professional boxer who outsmarts a gangster in the genius and grotesquely funny 1994 Pulp Fiction. In 1995 he starred in the dark sci-fi feature film 12 Monkeys where he played the role of a convict from the future, who travels back in time to the late 20th century, with the objective <<of finding the source of a deadly virus. The Fifth Element (1997) is another sci-fi movie he has starred in, under the direction of Luc Beson he plays a cabdriver in the future that finds himself embroiled in an action-ridden quest. In a more subdued but nevertheless stunning and unforgettable movie, this time around in the a supernatural thriller genre under the direction of M. Night Shyamalan, he played the part of a psychologist in The Sixth Sense (1999). Under the direction of the same director, Bruce Willis has starred in the Eastrail 177 Trilogy , a superhero thriller series with the titles: Unbreakable (2000), Split (2016), and Glass (2019).
