La Autopsia: El Gabinete de Curiosidades de Guillermo del Toro

The Autopsy is the third episode in the horror series Guillermo del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities. This time round, the chapter is directed by David Prior and starring F. Murray Abraham, Glynn Turman and Luke Roberts.

An interestingly intertwined story, with a good script, and even better cinematography and editing.

Be warned. There is a lot of gore.

About ‘The Autopsy’

Impressive production quality from the very start. This is an episode that is produced as if it were a major blockbuster feature film, with a technical savvy that stands out. The ambiance is set with its every take. Photography and special effects that are beyond what we expected.

‘The Autopsy’ is so far in this series the longest episode. It has a complex premise with a number of subplots. Its tempo is measured and varies according to the context of the scene in question, waltzing its way with artful narrative style.

It was a good decision to release a couple of episodes a day, rather than dumping them all at once, as this series is well worth watching one treat at a time, lest it be devalued by binge.
