Kate Box is a renowned Australian actress, known for her work in stage, film, and television. She started her acting career after graduating from the National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA) in 2003. Box’s first stage performance was in 2004, where she played the role of Helena in A Midsummer Night’s Dream at the Bell Shakespeare Company. Throughout her career, Box has worked on several productions, including Top Girls, Dolores, Macbeth, and A Christmas Carol.
Box made her screen debut in the 2005 television film sequel Small Claims: White Wedding. She also appeared in the medical drama series All Saints and the children’s drama series My Place. Box gained widespread recognition for her role as Nicole Vargas in the ABC comedy-drama series Rake, where she appeared throughout its entire run. In 2022, Box was announced as the lead in the upcoming Tasmanian noir crime comedy TV series, Deadloch, written by Kate McCartney and Kate McLennan. She was also announced as part of the cast for the upcoming SBS anthology series, Erotic Stories.
Box is married to writer and actor Jada Alberts, with whom she has three children. They reside in Sydney.
