Lee Ji-eun (IU)

Lee Ji-eun (born May 16, 1993), better known by her stage name IU, is a South Korean singer, songwriter, and actress. She debuted as a singer in 2008 with the album Lost and Found. Her follow-up albums, Growing Up and IU…IM, brought mainstream success, but it was only after the release of “Good Day” (Korean: 좋은 날), the lead single from her 2010 album Real, that she achieved national stardom.

IU has since released seven studio albums, all of which have been commercial successes. She has also starred in several television dramas, including Dream High (2011), The Producers (2015), and Hotel Del Luna (2019).

IU is known for her versatile music, which spans a wide range of genres, including pop, ballad, and R&B. She is also known for her songwriting skills, and she has written or co-written most of her own songs.

IU is one of the most popular singers in South Korea. She has won numerous awards, including five Mnet Asian Music Awards, four Golden Disc Awards, and three Seoul Music Awards. She is also the first Korean solo artist to win the Grand Prize at the Melon Music Awards.

In addition to her music career, IU is also a successful actress. She has starred in several popular television dramas, and she is known for her natural acting skills.
