Michael Mann is widely recognized as one of today’s most acclaimed and influential directors, writers and producers. Mann’s next film, “Manhunter” (1986), loosely adapted Thomas Harris‘s novel “Red Dragon”. It was visually stunning and notably featured one of the first on-screen portrayals of the iconic character Hannibal Lecter.

In 1995, Mann directed “Heat”, a crime epic starring Robert De Niro and Al Pacino. “Heat” is widely regarded as one of the greatest crime films ever made. Since then, Mann has continued to create critically acclaimed works, including “The Insider” (1999), “Ali”(2001), “Collateral” (2004), and “Public Enemies” (2009).

His films are praised for their realism and the complexity of their characters. His meticulous attention to detail is evident, often featuring long, uninterrupted shots that draw the audience into the action.
