Ben Howard is an English singer-songwriter, musician, and composer. Howard is known for his heartfelt folk and indie rock sound. His music is often described as being atmospheric and melancholic. He is a skilled fingerstyle guitarist and his live performances are known for their intimacy and energy.
Howard began his music career in 2008, when he released his debut EP, ‘Games in the Dark‘. He followed this up with two more EPs, ‘These Waters‘ (2009) and ‘Old Pine‘ (2010). In 2011, he signed to Island Records and released his debut studio album, ‘Every Kingdom‘. The album was a critical and commercial success, reaching number one in the UK Albums Chart. It was nominated for the Mercury Prize and won the Brit Award for Best British Male Solo Artist.
Howard has since released four more studio albums: ‘I Forget Where We Were’ (2014), ‘Noonday Dream‘ (2018), ‘Collections from the Whiteout‘ (2021), and ‘Is It?’ (2023). He has also released a live album, ‘Ben Howard Live‘ (2011), and a book of poetry, I Forget Where We Were.
