“Unstable” is a Netflix series starring Rob Lowe and John Owen Lowe.
Rob Lowe returns to the screen with one of those characters he loves: an eccentric that allows him to highlight the comic side of his performance. And he returns in good company, hand in hand with his own son, John Owen Lowe.
Together they play a father and son, both eccentric but each in his own way, who share a profession: biotechnology. The father is the owner of the company and the son… the son of the owner.
“Unstable” is a nice comedy to have a good time, nothing more. It is simple, with good jokes and cordial and friendly characters. A series that avoids conflicts in a series to, definitely, forget about problems.
No, “Unstable” does not have a realistic tone nor pretends to be high comedy, it is a series to have a good time and its protagonists know it.
A kind and entertaining series that now reaches its second season in this father-son project that is nice, charming and friendly at all times.
A Hollywood product with a bit of the lightness of yesteryear, without conflicts, full of beautiful people and millionaires whose biggest problems are facial rejuvenation treatments.
About the second season
No, our favorite boss, Ellis, seems that, finally, he will not go to jail and everything is solved with hardly any explanations. This is what happens in this second season, in which Jack (the son) tries to become independent, although his father is not going to make it difficult for him, since he buys the company where he starts working.
How difficult it is to live with a millionaire father!
And this is, broadly speaking, the tone that you will find in “Unstable”: uncomplicated and without aspirations, a series that has come into our lives to have a good time and to be able to forget it soon.
Of course, the time we spend with Ellis and Jack will be a pleasant time and without problems, because the series has such a kind tone that, many times, it is unreal in excess.
That said, it is a choice of the producers and the series has been a success with the public (critics, not so much).
From Thursday August 1 we can enjoy this second season on Netflix.
Enjoy it.
