Contemporary by Angela Li proudly announces the upcoming solo exhibition “House of Labyrinth” by emerging artist Cami Hui. This captivating showcase delves deep into the intricate relationship between spatial imagination and psychological landscapes, offering viewers a unique journey through the labyrinth of mental states.

In “House of Labyrinth”, Hui masterfully reconstructs her life experiences using the Mind Palace technique, a method of preserving memories in an imagined space. Her artworks reveal different facets of her soul, depicting both intimate close-ups and expansive views of a mysteriously arranged house. Drawing inspiration from the “House-Tree-Person Test”, each symbol in Hui’s creations serves as a pathway to her conscious and subconscious thoughts, inviting audiences to explore the multidimensional aspects of her Mind Palace.

This exhibition is more than a visual experience; it’s an invitation for introspection. Hui encourages viewers to connect with their present mental state rather than overanalyzing their surroundings. As visitors navigate through these intimate spaces, they gain insight into the complex interplay of memories, emotions, and individual identities. The fluid nature of memory reshapes perceptions over time, and Hui’s work serves as a powerful reminder of art’s ability to capture and transform these ephemeral moments.

Cami Hui, born in 1999 in Hong Kong, is a rising star in the contemporary art scene. A graduate from the Department of Fine Arts at The Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2022, Hui has already made her mark with participation in multiple group exhibitions across Hong Kong. Her work has been featured in prestigious venues such as the Hong Kong Art Centre, the HKICC Lee Shau Kee School of Creativity, and the Arts Pavilion in West Kowloon Cultural District.

Don’t miss this opportunity to step into Cami Hui’s “House of Labyrinth” and experience the transformative power of art. The exhibition opens on Thursday, January 9, 2025, at Contemporary by Angela Li.
