Aftershock: Everest and The Nepal Earthquake is a documentary series directed by Olly Lambert.

In three parts it covers the events in 2015 surrounding the devastating earthquake that, with a magnitude of 7.6 and its epicenter merely 30 miles outside the Nepali capital, Kathmandu, cost the lives of 9000 people.

Using firsthand accounts and live footage it gives us an insight into how several people, from expedition members who had set out to ascend Mount Everest, to Government Officials who had to organize to save as many people as possible, and inhabitants of Kathmandu and the Langtang Valley who had to deal with this unexpected catastrophic event.

List of Episodes

Episode 1: Wrong Place Wrong Time – Mountaineers, and expedition members who were caught by the earthquake during their ascent of Mount Everest. They have provided live footage of their initial ascent, and provide firsthand accounts of how they set about climbing Mount Everest, and there first reactions to the aftereffects of the earthquake that caused avalanches throughout the mountain range.

Episode 2: No Way Out – Mountaineers that were preparing their ascent to the summit of Mount Everest, Government officials, inhabitants of Langtang, a village in the valley at the foothills of Everest, and of the city of Katmandhu who survived the quake, are interviewed and provide their accounts on how they dealt in the terrifying event, and how they prepared for an aftershock.

Episode 3: Escape – The rescue missions start, and we are given the accounts of those involved, both in Kathmandu and in Langtang.
