2022 ended on a sad note in the world of fashion with the passing the iconic Dame Vivienne Isabel Westwood. The much admired Vivien Westwood died December 29th, 2022, at the age of 81.

Vivienne Westwood, born April 8th 1941 in Glossop, Derbyshire, England, UK, is considered one of the most influential and important figures in the history of 20th Century fashion. She was at the forefront of the industry for more than four decades and played a key role in shaping modern fashion. Westwood was known for her edgy, avant-garde designs, which often challenged traditional ideas about beauty and femininity.

She was one of the first designers to bring punk and new wave fashion to the mainstream, and her influence can still be seen in contemporary fashion today. Westwood was also an activist and spoke out on a number of political and environmental issues. Her legacy extends beyond fashion and includes her activism and her influence on popular culture.
