'Bloodhounds' (2023) Series on Netflix: Action and Thriller, Together Again.

Bloodhoundsis a South Korean series directed by Kim Joo-hwan, starring Woo Do-hwan and Lee Sang-yi.

A South Korean series about the underworld that, this time, is more action than thriller. Good photography in a series that mixes boxing with an entertaining crime thriller and better production than script.

Entertaining and with that experience in the industry that South Korean productions are achieving: By now they definitely know how to produce good series that can hit the right spots.

Bloodhounds is, above all, a good product to entertain ourselves.

Without going down in history at all.

But it contributes enormously to an already consolidated industry, following the right path of profitability.

About the series

Good at all levels, but outstanding in none of them. It plays safe with the script and doesn’t transcend the genre. The series knows where to go and what its strengths are. It knows what it is, it is very clear about the audience it is aimed at: it can’t offer something more transcendent with the idea that, arisen (we venture to say) from the production, it’s limited to doing a good job in every way without wanting to stand out.

Well treated at the photographic and assembly level. It achieves an interesting balance between action scenes and the necessary dramatic breaks.

Don’t expect excessive violence or stylized choreography like in some Japanese productions either: this one is simpler, more like an action TV movie. It is a matter of choice and taste of the audience.

A series that seeks to please, and pleases… more than shines.
