Ader auctioneer David Nordmann comments: ” These are works of art that, in his home, are stacked up next to each other. In fact, he likes to play with this stacking because none of Gérard Depardieu’s works hang on the wall. So it’s very unusual.

The actor will stand out from a total of 250 works from his 20th-century collection, featuring bronzes by sculptor Auguste Rodin and 5 pieces by Alexander Calder, among others.

The sale, which will take place from September 26 to 27, could bring the actor between 3 and 5 million euros.

The actor needs cash after several surgical operations. In 1995, following a serious motorcycle accident, he fractured his knee, putting an end not only to his physical condition but also to his mental temperance.

Depardieu was prosecuted following a complaint of rape and sexual assault lodged by actress Charlotte Arnould in 2021, and up to 13 women have recently claimed that the actor abused them throughout numerous shoots between 2004 and 2022.

On another occasion, the auctioneer requested that the legal actions against Depardieu be separated from the value of the pieces for sale, as they are works of recognized value.
