Directed by Matt Angel and Suzanne Coote and starring Lulu Wilson as Becky, a killing machine, “The Wrath of Becky” is a sequel to Becky (2020) that is much more enjoyable and action-packed.

This film does not have a single philosophical idea to discuss during our existentialist meetings. Since we stopped attending those meetings, our lives have been much better.

Plot

Two years after surviving a violent attack on her family, 16-year-old Becky tries to rebuild her life while caring for an older woman, a kindred spirit named Elena. However, when a violent group known as the Noble Men breaks into her home, attacks them, and takes her beloved dog, Becky must take matters into her own hands to protect herself and her loved ones.

Movie Review

Sit back, relax, and enjoy a movie with little plot, but lots of action, blood, and a blonde girl fighting, shooting, and seeking revenge.

With the same reasoning as John Wick, but in a blonde version, our likable teenager will bring back the terror from the first movie, but with a more agile and dynamic performance. It has a higher budget, but fewer ideas to develop. From the beginning, its only mission is to entertain, make us laugh, and be quickly forgotten.

There’s nothing wrong with that. It’s a fun movie, much more than the first one, and filmed almost like a parody, but with a strong sense of cinematography. It knows how to control itself, set the pace, and get serious when necessary, without ever becoming ridiculous or turning into an absurd comedy.

Well-filmed, with arguments to show that these two directors know what they’re doing and go beyond a more or less silly movie.

But it also knows how not to get serious or teach us a moral lesson. The neo-Nazis are parodies, and we want to join Becky on her crusade.

Our Opinion

A very worthy continuation. We found it better and more stylish than the first one, with fewer ideas but much more construction at the stylistic level.

And above all, a more comedic movie that knows how to change course and get it right.
