Metro Pictures is delighted to be working with Latifa Echakhch, the most recent artist to join the gallery. It was announced in January that she would represent Switzerland at the next Venice Biennale, now scheduled to open in 2022. Her exhibition The Sun and the Set is the latest subject of the gallery’s ongoing series A Closer Look, which focuses on a single artwork or exhibition. Echakhch’s current survey show at BPS22 Musée d’art de la Province de Hainaut in Charleroi, Belgium, is an opportunity to examine the threads that have tied her paintings, sculptures, and installations together for more than fifteen years.
