GALLERIA CONTINUA is pleased to present Double Exil, the first monographic exhibition of the French-Chinese artist Chen Zhen (Shanghai, 1955 – Paris, 2000) within its spaces in the heart of Paris.

Since its first encounter with Chen Zhen’s art in 1999 during the Venice Biennale, GALLERIA CONTINUA has continued to support and promote the artist’s practise.

The exhibition ‘Double Exil’ accompanies visitors through the great themes that have interested the artist throughout his life, in particular the relationship between man, consumer society and nature, and the dialogue between body and soul, between individual and the universe.

Twenty-three years after Chen Zhen’s death, the questions posed by the artist appear more central than ever to understanding and interrogating the complexities of the contemporary era.
