Yoshitomo Nara’s first Australian solo exhibition will bring together key works from his recent output, a time during which the artist processed the devastating 2011 Fukushima disaster that impacted his hometown region.

Nara’s resulting works grew to be a deep and prolonged meditation on the interconnected vulnerability of life on this planet. Each work is inflected with a cautious optimism that has been central to Nara’s practice since the 1980s.
