Pamela Merory Dernham has always drawn inspiration from the human form. Her latest pieces take this form in two distinct directions: one as a reference to the landscape, and the other as an interactive presence that directly engages the audience. Although rooted in the human figure, her steel wire sculptures are moving towards greater abstraction. The forms are pared down to the essentials, expressing themselves through gesture alone.

The artist holds a Master of Fine Arts from the California College of the Arts (CCA). She is an active participant in the Pacific Rim Sculptors Group and has also contributed to the Alumni Council of CCA.

Dernham’s work has been widely exhibited in California, featuring in both solo and group shows at venues like the Sonoma Valley Museum of Art, the di Rosa Preserve, California College of the Arts, the San Jose Institute of Contemporary Art, and JAMES BACCHI CONTEMPORARY in Palm Springs.
