Pancha Tantra is an in-depth exploration of Ford’s visual universe, including a complete biography and excerpts from his textual inspirations: from Indian folktales and the letters of Benjamin Franklin to the Autobiography of Benvenuto Cellini and Audubon’s Ornithological Biography.

Also available is the book’s Art Edition, limited to 100 copies, which includes the six plate aquatint etching Granary signed by Walton FordThe print depicts crimson-capped Acorn Woodpeckers guarding their cache of acorns as the Hollywood Hills—and the famed Stahl House—are threatened by wildfire.

MORE INFORMATION ON THE ART EDITION

Walton Ford lives and works in New York, NY, and his work is included in a number of private and public collections, including the Smithsonian American Art Museum and the Whitney Museum of American Art. Ford’s midcareer retrospective traveled from the Hamburger Bahnhof Museum Fur Gegenwart in Berlin to the Albertina in Vienna, and to the Louisiana Museum of Modern Art in Denmark in 2010-11. In 2015, Ford was the subject of a solo exhibition at the Musee de la Chasse, Paris.

Wingate Studio is based in the Connecticut River Valley, and under directors Peter and James Pettengill and Alyssa Robb, the Studio produces and publishes printed editions, books, and special projects with contemporary artists. Peter Pettengill and Walton Ford have been working together for over 20 years.
