Summer holidays may be a little different this year but Bonhams Modern British and Irish Art sale in Knightsbridge on Wednesday 21 July offers a glimpse of what the nation’s been missing. Leading the way is Summer Holiday by Sherree Valentine-Daines (born 1959) estimated at £5,000-7,000.
Other summer highlights of the 218-lot sale include:
- Les Catalans, Les Baux de Provence by Frederick Gore (1913-2009) estimated at £6,000-8,000.
- Mediterranean Head by Bryan Ingham (1936-1997). (Estimate: £5,000-7,000).
- Works by Roger Fry (1866-1934) from the 1920s and ‘30s including Cagnes (estimate: £4,000-6,000); Wooded Landscape, Provence (estimate: £3,000-5,000) and Carpentras (estimate: £3,000-5,000)
- La Bastidière by John Piper (1903-1992). Estimate: £4,000-6,000.
