NEW YORK—The International Center of Photography will introduce the ICP Photobook Fest on May 21-22, 2022 at ICP’s new building on the Lower East Side located at 79 Essex Street, New York. Presented in partnership with The Photography Show presented by AIPAD, the event will feature leading and independent photobook publishers and photographers showcasing their latest image-based books, as well as online programming and in-person book signings.

The ICP Photobook Fest is part of a week of photography events including The Photography Show presented by AIPAD, which will be held May 19-22, with a VIP Preview May 19, at a new location at Center415 on Fifth Avenue at 37th Street.

“The 2022 ICP Photobook Fest will gather the photobook publishing community to celebrate and examine the lasting power of the photobook in our new state-of-the art museum and school on 79 Essex Street,” said David E. Little, executive director of ICP. “We look forward to partnering with AIPAD to be part of this exciting weekend honoring photography with a wide selection of prestigious photography book publishers as well as the next generation of emerging independent publishers. Photobooks are central to the history of photography and their unique ability to speak about pressing issues of our time through carefully edited sequences of photographs from page to page is more important now than ever as we emerge from the isolation of Covid.”

Tickets to visit the ICP Photobook Fest will go on sale at a later date.

ICP invites photobook publishers to join the event by applying for a book display table and sales through the application process. More information can be found at icp.org/events/photobookfest
