Naru is a hunter and warrior in the early 18th century Comanche Nation, who will have to face an alien who has sophisticated arsenal.
Review of Prey
If you are expecting another signature The Predator installment, this is not it. The series has taken a noticeable turn, not in essence, but in style, which now offers us interesting characters, a good narrative structure, action and adventure, of course, but particularly a film the is very well produced with the premise and in form.
With a good choice of setting, the Comanche Nation, and characters that are convincing, and well portrayed, this film manages to introduce us to the story and engage us as viewers from the very start, telling us the story of Naru as a young hunter and “medicine woman” who knows her surroundings. ‘Prey’ has managed to elaborate a good plot, which is further enriched by the trademark of the series, the alien. What a great combination.
The cinematographic quality is high, which is to be expected, with good shots and sequences. The tempo is good form the start, without being too hasty, until the action starts.
As for the performance of Amber Midthunder in the role as Naru it is really good, it was a good choice in casting. The character itself is interesting in this premise, further normalizing a female character as the protagonist and hero in an action movie.
‘Prey’ is a an acceptable production, with a storyline that is engaging, and that will have the audience enjoying quality entertainment.
