Most have heard of John McAfee, the creator of the anti-virus program that made him supremely rich. It will be one very sought after documentary portraying his high-risk lifestyle.
Hero or villain, completely mad or genius, this guy lived at the limit. He was poisoned, dealt with drug cartels, shot his neighbor, fled time and again, did prison time, and well, we all know where he is now…. Sometimes life is stranger than fiction, and his was one such case.
Review
When you have such an intense protagonist, that even describing him as an eccentric would be an understatement, and who has so much money, and acts like a lunatic, half of the documentary is already made. When said protagonist leads a brutal life, collaborates in the documentary, and just “loves” to exhibit his deeds and create controversy, the documentary is basically complete.
There is nothing to hold against this this well produced documentary, and it manages to narrate Mcafee’s life of excess very efficiently and impactfully.
The story recounted in this documentary is gripping, about a guy who started working in NASA, founded his own company becoming incredibly successful, and ending up being a dangerous man who ended up fleeing several countries to ultimately end up in prison.
This is a movie turned into a documentary. Mcafee was a dangerous person, the kind character you would see portrayed in a movie. This is definitely a documentary we recommend.
