The Next 365 Days is the sequel of 365 Days (2020) and 365 Days: This Day (2022). It is directed by Barbara Bialowas and Tomasz Mandes. It stars Anna Maria Sieklucka, Michele Morrone and Rebecca Casiraghi.
Well, the “thuggish” version of 50 Shades of Grey is back, this time with a couple of conflicts.
Synopsis
Laura and Massimo are going through a crisis, while Nacho tries to separate them at all costs.
Review
9 1/2 Weeks meets Barbara Cartland, and together they go low-budget. They even stole a scene from the former.
This is a sad attempt at making a high-concept movie that has neither a plot nor a premise good enough to build an interesting storyline. It is 1hour and 46 minutes of a soapy projection of a relationship, and the unhealthy power dynamics therein, there is a lot of sex, which is the point of the movie – staged sex scenes. The dialogue is as simple as it gets, there is hardly any dialogue.
The cast is made up of attractive people, who we almost pity in the lack of artistry they are allowed to prove in this production. It must be difficult to do one sex scene after another, and then have a short dramatic dialogue concerning some serious trauma they have been through. Is this the erotic version of RRR?
The upside to this film: the photography is not bad. As mentioned they are aiming for the high-concept feel. The setting is good, the camera work is well carried outโฆ
There are also, long sequences show-casing the charm of the Sicilian night…. call it product placement if you will. Filming the bucolic streets and great nightlife, with cool music in the background. They are small intermissions with ads for the island.
If only it had a satirical element to it, it would perhaps have an edge, and be more convincing and have a modicum of chance to be taken seriously.
Our Opinion
A simplistic, half-baked imitation of 9 1/2 weeks. With a dialogue that is practically inexistent.
