Premise

Review

Fenced In is an amusing neighborhood-themed comedy. It is the Brazilian version of what we have seen so many times before coming out of Hollywood (or where ever they might be filmed).

The premise is straightforward: the organized life of one family is challenged by the disorganization of another family, and this will give way to a series of jokes for an hour and half.

Once again, we have to go by the rules of a sub-genre. As such, this quality of this film gets a 6 out of ten, at most, if not below that score.

Fenced In counts on the zest of its protagonist, played by Leandro Hassum, who finds himself completely outside his comfort zone, hence providing the perfect excuse to write a screenplay that will allow the actor showcase his comedic prowess.

Our opinion

It is an amusing, silly movie that uses easy humor and slapstick jokes, and actually portrays scenarios that are rather surreal with theatrical sketches revolving around neighborly discord and irritation. It is harmless fun, so there is no need to rip the movie apart, but it isn’t funny enough to put it on the top 10’s of best comedies.
