The Brave Ones is a South African series starring Sthandile Nkosi, Nomalanga Nkosi and Bonko Khoza.

It is six part series with an original premise that brings fantasy and social commentary together in an interesting premise and entertaining show.

Premise

Ntsiki calls on a goddess since she must avenge her sister’s death. This also implies learning how to use her superpowers in order to protect her family from evildoers.

About the Series

The Brave Ones is a good series that manages to merge mythology, magic and modernity, as it brings us gods and goddesses into today’s world. They live among us and they mingle with us. This series gives us a new take on this concept.

The idea behind the series is good, while not being a show that will leave you in awe, and is not an impactful production on a visual level, it does make up for these minor lacks with an interesting story. It counts on a good cast, whose performances are convincing and on par with the genre and the streaming format. It is well worth watching.
