Super League: The War for Football is a television mini-series by Apple TV+ written and directed by Jeff Zimbalist in which we penetrate in the creation of the Super League, a competition that would leave national competitions to one side and would focus on a grand European League in which the big clubs would compete against each other.
A league that would be exclusive for the greatest teams of the Old Continent and which would clearly exclude the least powerful and would terminate (some say) lesser football and with the entire entrepreneurial construction that backs this sport.
Doubtlessly, a polemical subject that is also attractive and which has been very much debated and for now, is at a dead end. The mutiny of the big clubs has been, in principal, tamped down by the UEFA, but the Super League is still there and voices in favor of it and against it have not stopped making themselves heard.
A really interesting documentary series to enjoy, as of this Friday 13, (Gee…) in Apple TV+.
The past, present, and future of European football collide when plans for a breakaway league emerge, leaving the game’s most powerful leaders to defend—or upend—the traditions of the sport.
As former allies become sworn enemies, the impact of football’s extreme spending is examined.
On the heels of a midnight press release, Čeferin delivers a message to the masses and makes a bold move to reclaim power.
FIFA president Gianni Infantino must choose a side as tensions reach a new peak. Meanwhile, Agnelli prepares for an uncertain future.
