John Travolta is an award-winning American actor, singer, producer, and dancer. He achieved international stardom following his leading role in the hit musical film Saturday Night Fever (1977), which earned him a Golden Globe Award for Best Actor – Motion Picture Musical or Comedy. His subsequent box office successes include Grease (1978), Pulp Fiction (1994), Get Shorty (1995), Face/Off (1997), Swordfish (2001) and Be Cool (2005). His extensive film credits also include films such as Urban Cowboy (1980) and Phenomenon (1996). Simpson: American Crime Story (2016). Additionally, he was nominated for Academy Awards for Best Actor for Saturday Night Fever and Pulp Fiction, which makes him one of only six male actors to receive two Oscar nominations in lead acting categories. Furthermore, Travolta has been honored with several Golden Globe awards including one nomination for Best Supporting Actor—Motion Picture and another four wins, including one Tony award nomination. In 2020, he was inducted into the New Jersey Hall of Fame.

Travolta has also established himself as a versatile performer in television roles and is an accomplished pilot with multiple hours logged in commercial aircraft. He is a certified private pilot and owns four airplanes including two Gulfstream jets. In addition to his acting career, Travolta is also an active philanthropist and has served as a spokesperson for various causes including literacy, human rights and social reform.
