If Hitchcock were alive today, he would make movies very much like those of Shyamalan, or perhaps this Indian director would have displaced the “suspense magician” forever, because Knock at the Cabin is a movie with masterful directing in one of those movies that any fan of good suspense movies in American style.

The way he keeps us watching, the way he leads the characters and his direction in each scene are prodigious! This is a movie that people should study in film academies. The director has been making movies for many years now and was a bit forgotten for some years (when he changed his style with very un-Marvel super heroes) and now he is back and in great shape to direct this marvelous movie.
We love how this film is guided by his directing and how he knows how to handle suspense, tell us the stories and put us into that impossible resolution in a decision that is even more impossible: sacrifice oneself to save the world.

Technically, this movie is also great, this is one of those films in which special effects don´t overwhelm the directing or the acting… a balanced film.

The best direction to aim for in order to find this balance is the editing, the timing and how he finds that “Shyamalan formula” which fools us in each frame and knows what he is doing and makes us fall in love with what we are watching.

One of his best movies in recent times.

Our Opinion

A movie that dominates suspense and places it in the hands of a master of suspense, leading the audience where he wishes.

A delight for suspense film lovers.
