Plane is an action thriller film directed by Jean-François Richet and starring Gerard Butler, Mike Colter, Yoson An and Tony Goldwyn.

Gerard Butler, the man that lives his film life (lately above all) this time around saves some passengers from the dangers in the jungle and their hostile inhabitants

About the Movie

This man who seems to be wearing blockbuster on his t-shirt, knows what he is doing and, although he tried his luck (with Katherine Heigl in The Ugly Truth) in romance, seems to fare better in living in danger and saving lives with his rough yet effective style.

Butler is not the kind of guy to be delivering kicks, his style is more about adapting to a situation and thanks to his kindness and his luck, saving the world like that because he can.

Plane is an excercise in making an entertaining action movie for all audiences in a blockbuster way but without spending too much. The movie cost 25 million dollars (an inexpensive movie, for an action movie that hopes to reap in many millions). So far it has recovered 26 million dollars in the United States (in theater houses) to which one needs to add the rest of the world and later streaming and others…

Why am I telling you this and being so Wall Street? Well, because Plane is conceived that way, like a machine to make money with no other pretenses, without a smidgin of originality and which offers the viewer exactly what they buy with the ticket: a “popcorn” movie that is just that: a good deal and satisfaction for all.

Mr. Butler still has a ways to go to win an Oscar, at least with products like this one.

Have fun if you can!

Our Opinion

A movie created to be forgotten.
