Galerie Lelong & Co. is pleased to announce Jaume Plensa’s solo exhibition Poetry of Silence at Fundació Catalunya La Pedrera, Barcelona, Spain from March 31 to July 23, 2023.

Curated by Javier Molins, the museum retrospective covers Plensa’s work from 1990 to the present day, presenting some of the most intimate and least known works of one of the leading figures on the international contemporary art scene.

Literature, especially poetry, has long been a major influence on Plensa’s work, with letters often appearing in his compositions, and will be a focus of the exhibition. His current work focuses on the human figure, marked by the convergence of the material and words. Other key themes in Plensa’s practice guiding the exhibition include the beauty of silence, the experience of dreams, the universal language of music, and the connection of family.

Works by Plensa can be seen in other spaces of La Pedrera—the roof, the attic and the courtyards—leaving the exhibition space to enter into a dialogue with the building.
