Early Career and Saturday Night Live

After graduating from Georgetown, Mulaney moved to New York City to pursue a career in comedy. He landed a job as an office assistant at Comedy Central, which gave him the opportunity to meet and network with comedians. In 2008, he was hired as a writer for “Saturday Night Live” (SNL) after submitting a writing packet that included one of his stand-up sets.
