Tooth Pari: When Love Bites is a series written and directed by Pratim D. Gupta starring Tanya Maniktala and Shantanu Maheshwari. With Sikander Kher.
When Anne Rice moved vampires from old Europe to America and then ended up in San Francisco, the experiment was a success, and then it came the movie with Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise playing Lestat.
Now the vampires (this is a historical fact, at least according to the series) have been living in the catacombs of Calcutta for several centuries and they wear… a different kind of outfit.
About the Series
Tooth Pari: When Love Bites is a classic vampire comedy series, one of those that, deep down, are not very funny and that, no matter how far we go back in the genre, we can’t find a halfway decent reference.
However, they still have their audience and now Bollywood is trying its luck again -not very successfully, by the way- with this light romantic comedy, vampires and a rather “eighties” style, but without the fun stuff that we associate to those wonderful years.
A leisurely pace that, without making us startle with fear as much as it should, fizzles down and does not seek the tension of horror films or the laughter of comedy, wanting to stay at all times in a middle ground of events between the trivial and the boring.
Maybe others will find it amusing, maybe it is the perfect series to watch with your couple (you never know).
Pleasant, nice… very light in tone, very kind, all much… subdued.

I quite enjoyed the series. Found it really funny at places and the love story really worked.
