Space Oddityis a film directed by Kyra Sedgwick starring Kyle Allen and Alexandra Shipp.

Space Oddity is a charming and gentle film for the whole family about illusions, family, and faith in humanity.

If you hate Black Mirror, this could be a good alternative.

Or not.

Movie Review

No, it’s not a sci-fi movie with big special effects as you might imagine. Space Oddity is a very light-hearted look at family life on a farm and hopes for the future.

So, a movie that (we suppose) science fiction fans (who are quite busy writing novels with Chat GPT) are not expecting and that is not the typical sweetened family movie either. Mind you, it is much closer to a good feelings telefilm than to a science fiction story.

It’s as if we took away all the special effects, the action and Christopher Nolan from Interstellar. What would be left?

We won’t get into what everyone consumes, and we won’t criticize you for it, but we can’t say that this combination of easy TV movie with space background (only the background) has touched our souls neither.

In terms of cinema, structure, novelty … rather little or nothing at all, because it is a film that wants to move feelings, promote faith in humanity and tell us, deep down, that there is still hope.

Colonizing another planet, of course.

If you feel like it, go ahead. Maybe it will make you feel better and give you that extra umph you needed to decide to start a family.
