Tim Robinson is a comedian, writer, and actor from the United States. Robinson was born on June 23, 1981, in Detroit, Michigan. He is best known for his work on the TV show “Saturday Night Live,” where he was a cast member from 2012 to 2013. Robinson is also known for creating and starring in the TV show “Detroiters,” which ran from 2017 to 2018 on Comedy Central.

Robinson’s early life was spent in Detroit, where he grew up in a working-class family. He attended University of Detroit Jesuit High School and Academy, where he developed a love of comedy and acting. After graduating, Robinson attended Saint Joseph’s University in Philadelphia, where he studied theater.

Robinson got his start in comedy performing improv and sketch comedy in Detroit’s Second City theater. In 2012, he was hired as a writer and performer on “Saturday Night Live.” However, Robinson’s tenure on the show was short-lived, and he was let go after just one season. Nonetheless, his memorable characters on the show, such as the overly aggressive football coach and the man who couldn’t stop laughing, earned him a cult following.

In 2017, Robinson teamed up with his fellow “Saturday Night Live” alum, Sam Richardson, to create and star in the TV show “Detroiters.” The show, which was filmed in Detroit and centered around two best friends who run an advertising agency, received critical acclaim for its comedic timing and affectionate portrayal of the city. The show was cancelled after just two seasons, much to the disappointment of its fans.

Despite the cancellation of “Detroiters,” Robinson’s career continues to thrive. In addition to his work as an actor and comedian, he is a writer and producer, and has worked on several other TV shows, including “The Characters” and “I Think You Should Leave.” Robinson’s unique blend of irreverent humor and relatable characters has made him one of the most exciting comedians working today.
