Pluto, the new series on Netflix, is an adaptation of the critically acclaimed manga of the same name by Naoki Urasawa and Takashi Nagasaki. The series is based on an arc in Osamu Tezuka‘s classic manga Astro Boy, but is a standalone story that can be enjoyed by viewers new to the franchise.

Plot

Pluto is set in a future where robots live and work alongside humans. The series follows Inspector Gesicht, a human police officer who is assigned to investigate the murders of seven of the world’s most advanced robots. As Gesicht investigates, he uncovers a conspiracy that threatens to destabilize the fragile peace between humans and robots.
