Kathal: A Jackfruit Mystery is a film directed by Yashowardhan Mishra and starring Sanya Malhotra and Anant Joshi.
Kathal: A Jackfruit Mystery is an entertaining film that, with its relaxed and uncomplicated good vibes, can make you spend a pleasant tv time.
It is more charming than good quality, but it has enough of both to, without getting too complicated, entertain us with its slightly absurd humor.
Or not so “slightly”.

About the movie
If you don’t know what a jackfruit is, it is a fruit, a vegetable species and the whole mystery of this movie is to find the culprit and inhuman thief who has stolen two kilos of jackfruits, very valuable for their wealthy owner, who will not hesitate to bother the local police to find the bad guy.
Yes, you won’t take it seriously and neither will the police, in an entertaining comedy of absurdity with a very Bollywood touch, in a film that, curiously, employs techniques such as zooming to, in case there was any doubt, seem even more “outdated” and “absurd”.
In its tone, plot, and pretensions, it manages to entertain and make us smile, which is not bad either.
The wig that one of the main characters wears is not to be missed.
Let’s not get too demanding with it because it doesn’t want to go beyond the anecdotal, funny and nice in a TV movie without too many pretensions to make us have a good time with the nonsensical.
Enjoy it.
