‘Lessons in Chemistry’ is a drama television miniseries created by Lee Eisenberg, and stars Brie Larson, Lewis Pullman and Aja Naomi King, among others. The series is based bestselling novel by Bonnie Garmus.
It will premiere on October 13th on Apple TV+.
Premise
Taking place during the early 1950s, “Lessons in Chemistry” revolves around the character Elizabeth Zott (portrayed by Larson), whose aspiration to become a scientist is hindered by the prevailing patriarchal norms of society. After being terminated from her laboratory position, Elizabeth seizes the opportunity to become a television cooking show host. Through her newfound platform, she endeavors to educate a nation of disregarded housewives, as well as the now attentive male audience, on subjects far beyond mere recipes.
