Margot Robbie

Robbie completed her schooling at Somerset College in Mudgeeraba, Queensland, a suburb in the Gold Coast hinterland. After her graduation, she moved to Melbourne, Victoria, Australia to chase her dreams of becoming an actress. From her late teens, Robbie began to make her mark in the acting world.

Robbie’s breakout role came in 2008, when she was cast as Donna Freedman in the long-running Australian soap opera, Neighbours. Her performance was critically acclaimed, earning her two Logie Award nominations. After spending a few years in Australian television, Robbie set her sights on Hollywood.

Robbie’s Hollywood breakthrough came with her role as Laura Cameron in the ABC series, Pan Am in 2011. However, it was her role as Naomi Lapaglia in Martin Scorsese’s Oscar-nominated film, The Wolf of Wall Street (2013) that catapulted her to international fame. Her performance alongside Leonardo DiCaprio was highly praised, and she was nominated for a Breakthrough Performance MTV Movie Award, among several other accolades.

In 2014, Robbie founded her own production company, LuckyChap Entertainment. She has since produced several films, including the critically acclaimed I, Tonya (2017), in which she also starred as figure skater Tonya Harding. The film earned Robbie a Golden Globe Award nomination for Best Actress – Motion Picture Comedy or Musical.

Away from the spotlight, Robbie leads a private life. She married British assistant director Tom Ackerley in 2016 in a private ceremony in Byron Bay, New South Wales, Australia. The couple lives in Los Angeles, California.

Robbie is also known for her advocacy work. She has been a vocal supporter of human rights, gender equality, and LGBT rights. Through LuckyChap Entertainment, she has focused on promoting female-driven projects. She has also supported charitable causes, such as the Motion Picture & Television Fund and UNICEF’s “Children First” campaign.

Robbie’s work continues to be recognized by critics and audiences alike. She has received various accolades, including nominations for two Academy Awards, five BAFTA Awards, and four Golden Globe Awards. She has been named one of the 100 most influential people in the world by Time magazine, and one of the world’s highest-paid actresses by Forbes.

Robbie continues to take on challenging roles and push boundaries in her career. Her upcoming projects include a prequel to the Ocean’s film series, which she will also produce.
