‘Love Again’ (2023) Movie Review: Romantic Comedy with Céline Dion… and that’s it

Love Again is a romantic comedy film directed by Jim Strouse and starring Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Céline Dion and Nick Jonas. It is based on the novel by Sofie Cramer.

The film Love Again features Céline Dion in the cast, which is utilized to promote the movie. However, aside from the singer, the film fails to distinguish itself and appears to be a typical romantic comedy lacking in humor and originality.

The movie’s predictable and unremarkable tone fails to evoke any feelings of love or excitement in the audience.

About the movie

There are days when one may not feel particularly inspired, and may simply go about their work in a satisfactory manner, only to forget the events of that day soon thereafter. Such is likely to be the experience of the individuals comprising the Love Again team, who are working on a romantic comedy that is largely predictable and unremarkable. At best, this project may be remembered as “the one with Céline Dion,” but it is unlikely to leave a lasting impression on those involved or on audiences.

The movie in question features a singer and Sam Heughan, who previously starred in Outlander. However, this is not a love story involving time travel or epic battles, but rather a tale of a woman (Priyanka Chopra Jonas) attempting to move on from a traumatic event (her boyfriend is struck by a vehicle in front of her) and a man who has yet to experience true love in his thirties. Céline Dion appears to provide guidance.

Typically, romantic comedies are considered successful when they meet certain criteria, such as having inspired actors and a solid script. Unfortunately, Love Again falls short of these expectations. The film lacks a clear message and seems content with being just another mediocre movie. While the actors, director, and screenwriter are not at fault, the end result is unremarkable and forgettable.

In short, Love Again is a movie that fails to make an impact on its audience. However, it does feature Céline Dion in a supporting role.
