Movie Review

An elegant movie and, above all, a spectacular vintage reconstruction that knows how to capture the feeling of the time and the environment with all its coldness, and this is precisely why it has not gone down too well.

It has been received tepidly for its lack of personality, for its formal style and, above all, for telling a story that lacks novelty, and in a form that is as formal as possible.

As we always say: it is a matter of choices. It could have been done differently, it could have captured this same story in a more energetic way or with less emphasis on the almost exquisite formality and its slow pace. This is possible, but it would have been an entirely different movie.

It is a good adaptation of the novel with very good performances of the three main actors but, in the end, we will have to agree with those who did not like it at all.  IF it had not had the media echo of Harry Styles playing the lead role, My Policeman would have passed without much fuss over the retinas of the viewers and, certainly, it would not have given so much to talk about.

Our Opinion

It is so respectful to the characters that it prevents them from going beyond without reaching the exquisiteness that it would have liked (and which it aspired to).
