Marking his return to the director’s chair for the first time since his critically acclaimed 2003 film “Open Range,” Kevin Costner revisits the Civil War era, a setting that brought him immense acclaim with his 1990 directorial debut “Dances with Wolves.” The latter film garnered seven Academy Awards®, including Best Picture and Best Director. Costner produces the film alongside Howard Kaplan and Mark Gillard, with Danny Peykoff, Robert Scannell, Armyan Bernstein, Charlie Lyons, Barry Berg, and Rod Lake serving as executive producers.
