Becky is a film directed by Jonathan Milott and Cary Murnion. Starring Kevin James, Lulu Wilson, Joel McHale, and Amanda Brugel.

The movie ‘Becky’ (2020) is a fun thriller with a very special protagonist. It’s a humorous film where a shy girl has to face a small army of “bad guys”. It’s almost a B-movie, but it’s entertaining within its genre.

Storyline

The plot revolves around Becky, a teenager who has just lost her mother and has to deal with the loss while her father has a new girlfriend. Oh, and to top it all off, some white supremacist criminals have just escaped from prison and are coming to ruin her weekend.

About the Movie

The movie is entertaining and tries to escape the thriller’s main lines, succeeding at times and providing a fun spectacle. Kevin James steps out of his usual comedic roles, and the film is a mix of comedy, action, and film noir that will keep you entertained. It doesn’t try to teach us anything or revel in misfortunes. Instead, it turns Becky into a kind of Rambo of the forest, and you end up liking her and feeling inspired to conquer the world.

While ‘Becky’ isn’t original and doesn’t offer anything new, it has the virtue of doing what it does with grace, agility, and style. It’s a pleasant, well-made film that takes full advantage of the premise on which it’s built. It’s convincing within its genre and always within its intentions.
