Not Okay is a 2022 comedy starring Zoey Deutch and Mia Isaac. It is written and directed by Quinn Shephard.
A movie that is well executed, or at least well enough to be tolerated by a broader audience. Despite being categorized as a comedy, it develops into something more serious.

Movie Review
This film stands out thanks to its approach, which is novel and fresh, in it has a nonchalant, lively style that is adapted to this time and age of speedy tweets, ‘instas’ and a lot posturing. This time around these apps are not used for effect, as the story itself actually is about the social media and how lies can be disseminated through them. It also addresses the hunger for fame and recognition by narrating the story about a young woman who gets into very serious trouble and who, in fact, is only concerned about herself, while the world around her is falling apart.
The movie evolves from being a comedy to become something way more serious, providing a critique of the media, the lies and the “God knows what” we are living in now….
It is an intelligent film, not only due to its ability to evolve in its narrative, but also due to the freshness in its cinematographic manner. Without being a huge production, it manages to give the best of itself, which is in large part thanks to the protagonist, Zoey Deutch, who has turned out to be the right choice in casting.
However, if this movie has a name to blast all the blame and kudos onto, it is Quinn Shephard, who does not lack talent and knows how to direct, write and narrate a story both on a literary level and on a visual one. He blends both aspects, and has provided us with a good movie.
Perhaps it is not a movie we will remember for eternity, but he does manage to make us think and, and more importantly, he manages to keep us entertained (and reflexive) for the duration of the movie.
Our Opinion
A good movie, which is fun and intelligently written and crafted.
