Premise
Elvis, a radio host takes a call, where an unknown person threatens to kill the showman’s entire family on air. To save loved ones, the Elvis, and his newly hired producer, will have to play a survival game and the only way to win is to find out the identity of the criminal.
Movie Review of ‘On the Line’
An entertaining thriller without going far and beyond than that. Gibson plays his part well and carries the character along appropriately, although it will not go down as the most stellar performance in his career. In this movie he takes on a role that is designed for him (he is the executive producer).
The movie develops relatively well, at a fast pace, in fact at a hectic pace, elevating the suspense, and has a surprising ending. Although, it is not the first time we have seen this gimmick in cinema, it nevertheless works rather well when it is properly time and put together.
In favor of Boulanger, we will say that this is movie that is more challenging on a directorial level, than it is on a script level, and he manages to construct an entertaining piece.
‘On the Line’ is one of the best among the latest movies with Gibson.
Our Opinion
Well carried out. It is one of those challenging thrillers where the director has managed to piece together an upbeat movie created and designed for Mel Gibson.
