Movie Review
This entertaining, lively piece with many action sequences, and sword fighting, will delight its fans. As a movie it is well produced, the direction is intelligent, knowing how to bring together with elegance the traditional film making with the manga element. This blend works well.
What stands out is the ambiance it conjures, the decor, and the special effects. This is without doubt a movie that was dealt a generous budget, and plays with the advantage of being distributed by Warner.
The story is well conveyed and with coherence, and what we particularly looked for: the action scenes, are well integrated in the narrative. The action sequences are truly outstanding. This is a movie that will not disappoint fans of this genre, and it will in fact also engage a broader audience thanks to Keishi Ohtomo’s ability to integrate the elegance into the plot.
Our Opinion
A delight for the fans of this genre of Japanese action, and manga that balances well these styles with more traditional narrative approaches, allowing for a broader audience to enjoy this movie too.The production is notable, creating a very distinct atmosphere, with very well executed action
