Movie Reviews

“‘Scarface’ is one of those special movies, like ‘The Godfather’, that is willing to take a flawed, evil man and allow him to be human. (…) Rating: ???? (out of four)” Roger Ebert: Chicago Sun-Times

“‘Scarface’ has the impressive filmmaking triumvirate of De Palma, Stone, and Pacino (…) Although the film depicts a nightmarish world, it’s also very funny (…) Rating: ???? (out of 4)” Slant

“The movie reduces a truly grave problem, the alarming success of Miami’s drug peddlers (…) [Montana] is just a cartoon monster, an excuse for De Palma to show off his obvious talent for staging shoot-outs.” Kathleen Carroll: New York Daily News
