Movie Review
She Will is above all a beautifully crafted movie that has elevated this production to a higher aesthetic and artistic level, with an overarching pictorial intention in each of the frames, and will delight the viewer who will actually “see” cinema. Charlotte Colbert has managed to direct a gem of a movie.
The story is well told, and well interpreted, particularly by a dramatic and slightly acerbic Alice Krigeb, and introduces us to Kota Eberhardt, who has proven to be a fantastic actress.
As the film advances you will see a very clear retro element (it is produced by Dario Argento) with some approaches in the scenography that might appear démodé, and subtle tributes, and even grants itself the luxury of again using the zoom to give it a 70ish touch.
With all this said we cannot omit mention of Jamie D. Ramsay, the cinematographer responsible for the aesthetics in this film.
The movie shines bright in its frames and the presentation that goes beyond the story itself, in its ambience, which is more than a literary narrative, recreating an inner world and a fantasy rather than giving us a blatant horror spectacle. It is an elegantly narrated horror story that is well worth watching.
Our Opinion
It is an elegant viewing experience that is elevated by its aesthetics, and great performances. It takes us back to the movies in the 70’s, and we love that. Guiding us through a fable where the camera tells so much more than what many will believe to have seen, it is a gem.
We absolutely enjoyed it, and definitely recommend it.
