Squared Love Everlasting is a 2023 rom-com movie directed by Filip Zylber. It is the third installment in the Squared Love film series, following Squared Love (2021) and Squared Love 2 (2022). The film stars Adrianna Chlebicka, Mateusz Banasiuk, and Ina Sobala.

Welcome to a world where men who, after proposing marriage as tradition demands, celebrate that feat by doing an abdominal workout. And, welcome too, to a world of prim and proper women who, are happy and radiant when proposed to, and can now focus on organizing a perfect wedding with glee.

The third installment of this romantic comedy saga takes us to a place where the romantic spirit comes in its purest form, completely untainted: with charming and almost perfect lead actors who fall in love, and somewhat funny supporting characters that make the movie almost enjoyable to watch.

Movie Review

Squared Love is a successful series of Polish films that has taken us in the recent years through the most clichéd territory of traditional romantic comedy: two charming and attractive actors in a romantic relationship, and a story sprinkled it with a joke or two. All of this without straying from a very, very proper tone and always adhering to the rules of tradition.

You can expect to witness jealousy, a few funny retorts that will make you smile lightly, and never deviating from what is considered correct and well intended. It neither breaks the traditional mold of feel-good comedy, nor do its characters steer away from a prefect cookie cutter mold that to would make mistakes or fail miserably.

In this third installment, we have more of the same, except that on this occasion the narrative revolves around starting a family, having children, and ultimately accepting new responsibilities that are inherent to adulthood, and leaving behind that pernicious life of singlehood, vice, and “transgression” (you would have to watch another movie for that wild version).

The characters have evolved, yes, but they still follow such a strictly predictable pattern that it’s like watching a wave function – in the quantum physics sense – with the most probable outcome and without its elements ever managing to break the quantum or Newtonian scheme: always the same, forever (as the title of the movie suggests) and ever.

It is clear: it neither wants nor aims to surprise anyone. If anything it is produced to appease the more timid audience: being the traditional movie it is that has been created for lovers of tradition. It is a feature that is nice in every sense of the word, and will make the audience feel comfortable well knowing that they will be having good un-challenging time watching its soapy cinematography, and follow the characters whose reason of being is to find love. There is no subtext, so there would be no point in searching for the hidden meaning of a wave function.

Our Opinion

A completely traditional movie that works for those who are looking for something wholesome and pristine in its storyline, and who want to see a romantic story that has evolved from its beginning reaching its narrative natural conclusion.

Welcome to the world of the utterly predictable.
