Sydney – Tuesday 3 October, 2023. Italian superstar composer and pianist Ludovico Einaudi returns to the Sydney Opera House for four performances in the revitalised sonic surrounds of the Concert Hall from 2 – 5 February.

The world’s most streamed classical music artist, Einaudi will captivate audiences with his genre-defying music, blending neo-classical, pop, ambient and experimental tones on the stage where he made his Australian debut 10 years ago. Einaudi will perform music from Underwater (2022), a collection of 12 exquisite piano tracks and his first solo album release in two decades, alongside classics spanning his 40+ year career, accompanied by violin, viola, cello, electronics and percussion.

Ludovico Einaudi, said: “It is my great pleasure to return to the Sydney Opera House for four concerts. It is one of my favourite iconic places where I love to perform. Its last passionate and warm audience response still resonates in my heart.”

Einaudi’s extraordinary career spans multi-million-selling albums; critically acclaimed film and television scores including the Oscar and Golden Globe winning films, The IntouchablesNomadland and The Father; and a haunting iceberg performance in the Arctic Ocean for Greenpeace. The Italian maestro’s euphoric piano ballads and profound instrumentals have seen him become one of the most successful classical composers in the world and, more recently, one of TikTok’s biggest. Last year, his 2013 catalogue track ‘Experience’ hit the global charts again after clocking up more than 15 billion views and 7 million video creations on TikTok.

Sydney Opera House Head of Contemporary Music, Ben Marshall, said: “It is always a major occasion and privilege to welcome Ludovico Einaudi to the Sydney Opera House, especially after a four-year absence, a period in which the Concert Hall has been acoustically revitalised into possibly the perfect vehicle to be utterly transported by the maestro’s immense talents. Presenting Einaudi’s Australian debut in 2013 was a personal joy for me, and it remains thrilling to witness his constant ascent leading to these four consecutive summer nights of unmistakable compositional and performative majesty.”

In 2024, four years since his last sold out visit, Einaudi will return to the Opera House to transport audiences with his new music, Underwater and 40+ year catalogue of spine-tingling hits.
