7 NOVEMBER 2023 (TORONTO, ON) – GRAMMY-nominated and artistic maven Tierra Whack (Interscope Records/Universal Music Canada) is making waves with her latest single, “Chanel Pit,” which is out today on all streaming platforms. The infectious track finds the lyrically gifted MC dishing out her trademark flavourful bars regarding her dominance over the competition on speaker-rattling production orchestrated by Nick Verruto. The official music video — directed by frequent collaborator Alex Lill — makes “Chanel Pit” a welcomed addition to Whack’s extensive catalog of experimental visuals with the multi-hyphenate putting herself — with no vehicle — through a fully functional car wash as overhead and vertical brushes clean her up while also giving her a fresh polish. The video for “Chanel Pit” will make its broadcast premiere on MTV Live, MTVU, Yo!MTV, BET Jams, BET Hip Hop, and on the Paramount Times Square billboards.

In addition to the new single and official music video for “Chanel Pit,” Whack is also giving fans a special treat in the form of a feature film titled Cypher in collaboration with Black-led media platform, Andscape. The thrilling feature film directed by Chris Moukarbel highlights the incredible rise of the illustrious rapper and will premiere in select theaters and streaming on Hulu on Nov. 24, 2023.

Whack is getting ready to hit the masses with her highly anticipated sophomore album in 2024. The upcoming project will follower her breakout debut album, Whack World, which was released in 2018 and spawned the Grammy-nominated hit “Mumbo Jumbo.” The success of that groundbreaking album kicked down the doors for Whack to explore her eccentric mind and give fans an impressive run of releases that includes her lauded “Whack History Month” series and a trio of acclaimed EPs titled Pop?Rap?, and R&B? released consecutively in Dec. 2021.

The list of accolades is also growing for Whack as she earned a Grammy nomination in 2018, landed a coveted XXL Freshmen slot in 2019, covered Teen Vogue in 2020, and has collaborated with the likes of Apple while being critically acclaimed in reputable outlets such as The New Yorker, Rolling Stone, and more. The success won’t stop there, though, as Whack plans to add even more to her list of accomplishments in the new year.
